ANDY ALBERTS & THE WALKABOUTS
Andy Alberts is a Gunditjmara singer songwriter born at
Framlingham Aboriginal mission, near Warrnambool. Andy songs tell
the stories of his people: their struggles, their celebrations and their histories.
 
 


DAVID ARDEN

David Arden is a Gunditjmara and Googatha Singer, Guitarist, Songwriter
& Producer. David has worked with many of the great aboriginal and
non-aboriginal acts: Hunters & Collectors, Crowded House and Bart Willoughby, not to mention his five years touring nationally and
internationally with Archie Roach.He has just finished recording
his debut solo album, which is due to be released in early 2007.

 

BRETT CLARKE

Brett is a local Gunditjmara/ Kirrae Whurrong man whose songs have a strong cultural and environmental theme. He has been writing for the last 15 years, drawing on the words and wisdom of his late Grandfather Banjo Clarke. Brett has played at various festivals & community events around Victoria, including Port Fairy Folk Festival and Apollo Bay Music Festival. Brett’s songs are currently on the Triple J Unearthed website; give him some support by casting a vote here
 

PATRICIA CLARKE

Patricia is a singer/songwriter of the Gunditjmara/ Kirrae Whurrong.
Her album ‘Keep the Fires Burning’ was launched at Tarerer in 2003.
Patricia is also a founding member (along with Shane Howard) of the
Tarerer Indigenous Festival which has been running for past 11 years.
 


SHANE HOWARD

Shane is a quiet but passionate rebel, he continues to provide a local, national and international view of Australia and Australians through his songs and stories. He has lived and worked in Australia's cities and remote communities and felt the pulse of the country from within the landscape. A treasured Australian songwriter speaking with first hand knowledge of his subject matter.

NEIL MURRAY

After more than two decades of writing, recording and performing,
Neil Murray is one of Australia’s most respected songwriters. He was a
member of the pioneering indigenous rock group the Warumpi Band.
Since 1989 he has forged solo recording career that has produced the albums “Calm & Crystal Clear”, “These Hands”, “Dust”, “The Wondering Kind”,
“Going the Distance” and now the 2CD compilation “About Time”

LYN EALES
Lyn has been performing in and around South West Victoria for many years
and is a well known and respected local musician. Her genres include jazz, blues, folk, acoustic and contemporary. Lyn’s powerful emotive presentation
and her awe-inspiring vocal range create a superb performance.
She has
played with many local artists and bands and is a long standing member of
Andy Alberts & The Walkabouts and choir leader of the Red Tent Singers.
